Introduction

A diet high in refined carbohydrates, omega-6 fatty acids, and sugar can trigger a dangerous cascade of metabolic disruptions in the body, particularly affecting the liver and insulin function. When consistently overwhelmed with excess calories, especially from processed foods and sugars, the liver begins storing surplus energy as fat droplets within its cells, leading to a condition known as fatty liver disease. Simultaneously, the constant influx of simple carbohydrates forces the pancreas to release increasingly more significant amounts of insulin to manage blood sugar levels. Over time, cells become less responsive to insulin's signals – a condition called insulin resistance – creating a vicious cycle where the body requires even more insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels. This combination of fatty liver and insulin resistance often operates in tandem, as the fatty liver becomes less effective at responding to insulin. In contrast, insulin resistance promotes further fat accumulation in the liver, potentially leading to inflammation, liver damage, and an increased risk of type 2 diabetes if dietary habits aren't modified.

Common signs of a fatty liver are a protruding belly (belly fat) and an inability to eat within an 8-hour window each day. This is a sign of insulin resistance if you feel the need to eat all the time.

The Treatment Plan for a Fatty Liver

Stop Doing: all addictive behaviors (recreational drug use, smoking, drinking alcohol, coffee, sugar, overeating, and crimes - violence and abuse).

Spiritual: Pray to God for help, guidance, and healing. Believe God will help you. "Is any thing too hard for the Lord?" (Genesis 18:14)

Heart/Relationships:

  1. Who do I need to forgive?
  2. Who do I need to serve?
  3. Who have I offended and need to ask forgiveness from?
  4. Remember, repentance (turning to God) and forgiveness are not "one and done" events but a process. Think of the weekly sacrament ordinance.

Mind: What is occupying your thoughts and dreams? Look for emotional traumas that need to be resolved. Increase oxytocin to reduce cortisol (fight or flight), reducing insulin resistance. Oxytocin, on the other hand, isn't called 'the love hormone' for nothing. It helps promote feelings of trust and bonding - pretty handy if you aim to win friends or influence people. Body/Physical:

  1. Follow an Anti-Inflammatory Diet
  2. reduce stress
  3. get 7- 8 hours of sleep
  4. drink plenty of water
  5. Once a week fast for 24 hrs
    • May drink water
    • add apple cider vinegar, salt, and/or lemon
  6. only eat 2-3 meals a day—no snacking between meals
  7. Healthy Bowels
    • If your bowels are clogged, the liver cannot flush and detox (typically around 2 am from Chinese Body Clock)
  8. get 15-30 minutes of sunlight, preferably while walking with someone you care about
  9. Movement: 30-45 minutes of moderate (60%- 80% effort) exercise 5-6 times a week.
  10. Apply castor oil topically around the liver. Recommend using a castor oil pack from Amazon.
  11. To help heal and support your liver, apply the Liver Light Lotion nightly before bed.
